WW2 German Entrenching Shovel and cover
A Good Condition German Entrenching. Tool shovel or Kleines Schanzzeug which was the Typical shovel worn by most of the German ground troops in the early half of the war until the folding type arrived late wartime. The square ended shovel really remained unchanged since the. Late 1880's into WW1 and WW2. This one I believe to be the M1887 pattern. It has the handle riveted to the metal head. The handle is good with no Wood worm and only slight surface rust to the blade and still with a good deal of original paint present. No makers marks visable but a definite WW2 used example. The leather cover is good apart from Some stiiching has come loose and the leather is supple and the metal fixings good . A nice set
